Ronald Okumu was born in the midst of war in a country that has only ever known turmoil. Young Ronald had a strong desire to learn and was fortunate to have a generous benefactor pay for his primary education, although the school was miles from home. Ronald’s home village is an eight mile walk to the nearest school. There is no sanitary running water. Malaria and malnutrition is commonplace.
Ronald excelled in primary school and was fortunate to be able to go on to receive a Bachelors Degree in Education. He is married with two young daughters. Despite his success, he longs to return to Tadi Central Village and help these families through education. Ronald has founded Hope Fills Uganda and is working diligently to secure land, build a well, school and health center.
Ronald and his community are doing all they can to build a better future in Tadi Central Village, Uganda. CANbuildlives has partnered together with Hope Fills Uganda and H204all to see Ronald’s dream become a reality and to change the many lives in poverty stricken northern Uganda.
